Working with Sara Cloostermans was transformational for me. She helped me focus in on the personal and professional activities that I felt most passionately about, leading to a new career path that has engaged my mind and my heart. While supporting me in dealing with difficult relationships, I learned skills that I can translate into many parts of my life to minimize drama and negativity. I often find myself passing along tips, words of wisdom or resources that Sara shared with me to friends and colleagues, so her impact is continuing and expanding even though I’m thousands of miles away and no longer in contact with her regularly. I’m so grateful for having had the opportunity to work with Sara!

“Sara is warm, kind, non-judgmental, and intuitive. She has helped me evolve into an independent, freethinking and more emotionally secure person.”
I have worked with Sara on and off for 7 years. Sara is warm, kind, non-judgmental, and intuitive. She has helped me evolve into an independent, freethinking and more emotionally secure person. Prior to working with Sara, I had a difficult time coping with anxiety and my emotions ran wild, keeping me from maintaining healthy relationships with both my family and romantic partners. I have learned a lot with Sara and I truly value the skills she has taught me to be able to process my emotions and behavior, and how to make better choices for myself. I credit my time with Sara for much of the success in life I have today.
Sara is very accessible and although I don’t work with her very often nowadays, whenever anything comes up and I need her help, she responds right away. Her professionalism is outstanding, and she has my highest recommendation.

“I experienced Sara as a creative, compassionate and knowledgeable cognitive expert. She opened my eyes to mindfulness and increased gratitude.”
Talking to Sara at a particularly low period in my life was one of the best decisions I made. I experienced Sara as a creative, compassionate and knowledgeable cognitive expert. “It was extremely important to me that I talk to someone who understood postpartum couples and I am so relieved I found Sara. She helped me tear down walls I had built up with my partner during the postpartum months, and my husband and I are now much stronger than before!”
After having my first child, my husband and I struggled with communication and I felt like I had lost my connection with him. After 4 months of letting the problem build up, I started working with Sara. Identifying the issues I was having and laying them out with a safe person was extremely helpful. There were things I never brought up at home because I knew, my husband and I would end up in a fight, so talking my issues through ahead of time with Sara’s guidance helped me get through some hard conversations with my husband.
Sara also gave me tools that I could use as a foundation in my path to relearning how to communicate and transitioning into parenthood. She also provided me with skills that I could use as a new mother. It was extremely important to me that I talk to someone who understood post-partum couples and I am so relieved I found Sara. She helped me tear down walls I had built up with my partner during the postpartum months, and my husband and I are now much stronger than before!

“After years of infertility challenges, I found myself struggling with how to cope with thoughts and feelings associated with pregnancy loss. I was fortunate to work with Sara and found our sessions to be invaluable.”
After years of infertility challenges, I found myself struggling with how to cope with thoughts and feelings associated with pregnancy loss. I was fortunate to work with Sara and found our sessions to be invaluable. She really helped me work through my emotions, including how to identify and process grief. During this period, my husband and I also found out that we would be moving abroad for yet another military assignment. We went through some major changes in a short amount of time.
Sara is a compassionate listener and I felt comfortable opening up in our sessions because I knew that there was no judgment. Allowing yourself to be vulnerable can be very difficult. I never had any reservations with Sara. Working with Sara brought me closer to appreciating what I do have in life and moving forward.

“I now give myself permission to take better care of myself, which was something I rarely did before. Because of the self-care strategies that Sara taught me, I finally feel OK with spending time on myself, without guilt.”
My experience with Sara has been wonderful. I can honestly say that, since working with Sara, I have been able to incorporate a lot of the tools that she shared with me in all areas of my life. Being a working mom of two teenage boys in a military family with my husband deploying often, I used to feel like there was never any “me-time”. I now give myself permission to take better care of myself, which was something I rarely did before. Because of the self-care strategies that Sara taught me, I finally feel OK with spending time on myself, without guilt.
I learned that I don’t really need anyone’s permission to make my own decisions or worry about what anyone thinks. People are who they are and they aren’t going to change. It’s something that we have to accept and let go. I used to struggle with this quite often, but thanks to Sara, I don’t dwell on that much anymore.
From day one, Sara made me feel comfortable disclosing issues reaching as far back as my childhood, which I realized were still impacting me today, and she helped me find ways to integrate them. I think feeling safe is the most important quality to look for when you are working with someone and I found it with Sara!

“Sara was kind, compassionate, and very easy to connect with. Even after just one session, I felt my burden being lifted. She offered me a nonjudgmental listening ear, tools to alleviate my symptoms, and always met me where I was with her warm presence.”
Sara came into my life when, as a new mother, I desperately needed to be taken care of. After my first child was born, I suffered from postpartum anxiety and felt awful that at a time when I “should be so happy“, I felt terrified and broken. Sara was kind, compassionate, and very easy to connect with. Even after just one session, I felt my burden being lifted. She offered me a nonjudgmental listening ear, tools to alleviate my symptoms, and always met me where I was with her warm presence. Together, we did practical work that focused on managing my day-to-day life as well as deeper work that healed old wounds from my past.
I reconnected with Sara before my second child was born, and together, we created a comprehensive support plan. I am so happy to share that with that second birth, I experienced no postpartum anxiety or depression. I was equipped with strategies that Sara taught me, and to this day, I continue to thrive as a working mom. Sara is still shining light in my life and I remain so grateful for the work we did together.

“My time working with Sara was such a vital part of my healing process. She provided safety to let open the jars of stress and trauma that I had kept bottled up.”
My time working with Sara was such a vital part of my healing process. She provided safety to let open the jars of stress and trauma that I had kept bottled up. I remember one exercise that worked with visualizing a place where you feel safe. It could be made up or it could be real. Even today, I still go to that place and find great solace and safety there. My work with her assisted me at such an important time in my life and I couldn’t be more grateful.

“Not only did Sara help my teenage son and I learn how to set good boundaries, but she also helped us learn how to improve our communication with one another in such a way that it has brought us closer.”
Sara is a terrific therapist and really helped both my child and I during a challenging time in our lives. Not only did Sara help my teenage son and I learn how to set good boundaries, but she also helped us learn how to improve our communication with one another in such a way that it has brought us closer. I can’t recommend Sara enough. She has wonderful insight into human nature, and through her compassion and training, is able to help others in a positive and meaningful way.
